Things Happen is Ebbe Stub Wittrup's first solo show. In Asbæk Underground he is presenting photos, which are very aware and real without telling any specific story.

At first glance the photos are describing trivial occurrences such as a tailback or a rubber dinghy on the surface of the water. The motifs are common and yet unfamiliar.
Thus the pictures seem to withdraw themselves from the reality they are reflecting and turning into something more abstract.

Ebbe Stub Wittrup's work has an extraordinary visual tension, which makes the pictures moving between the "really unreal".

The artist (born 1973) is educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1995-99). He has e.g. published the book Exciting Comfort, Space Poetry (2000). In 2003 he received a grant from Statens Kunstfond. Recently he was artist-in-residence at Centro Cultural Andratx.
