Daniel Verbis is an important figure in young Spanish art. In Verbis' abtract, organic works he extends the concept of painting by exploring diverse material, procedure and form. Yet, to call him a painter would be inaccurate.

The media is strongly mixed and involves everything from acrylic and plastic to sewing thread, wood and iron. There are no canvases mounted on strechers. Still his works very often end up taking form as pictorial constructions in two-dimensions meant to hang on a wall.
